Avid Massey Ferguson collectors, Linda and Randy Patsy of East Brady, Penn. got lost several times on their way to an auction advertising a 1949 WF, a model missing from their collection. Arriving late, the first Allis Chalmers sold was a desirable 25-30, but Randy didn’t bid, disappointing Linda. Then the WF came up and it was against a big collector who was phoning in. Randy stopped bidding, but Linda urged him on…and on…and on. Before he realized it, Randy had the winning bid.
This WF had never been in a field, as it had been used under a shelter providing belt power to a sawmill. Even the tires were original and in good shape. With only an changed radiator evident, everything else on the WF was original and in good condition. De-greasing, light sanding and repainting in a “micro-restoration” brought this up to show-worthy quality.
